amount channels is the amount of speakers you want to amp separately if you want to amp tweets. coax in the back is suggested because there are no separate tweeter mounts in the rear I want all 4 door speakers banging appropriately with the sub control and some way to control the eq.- coax is a woofer and tweeter in one. 2020 F150 XLT AfterMarket Stereo Upgrade Possible Is it possible to replace the stock factory radio with an aftermarket radio, but still keep all the factory settings / screens / steering wheel controls / backup camera intact Reply Like. I want all 4 door speakers banging appropriately with the sub control and some way to control the eq. What size channel amp do I need? 3 channel or 5 channel? Is that why you have coax in back because they’re powered off factory head? Is this setup still limited in the rear speakers? If you want to take your system to the next level, incorporate the Dayton 408 dsp and reach out to me for remote tuning.Ya man. Control sub level with bass **** included with any decent amp. Run separate tweeter channels out of crossovers to a-pillars (incredibly easy to do)Ħ. Run front left and right midbass out of crossover and rear channels back to the input side of for-11ck harness.ĥ. Run speaker wires from output of amp to crossovers.Ħ. Run front left and right channels to your ampĥ. You don't lose any functionality and your system will sound better.Ģ. It's only there to make up for the poor output of the factory system and adds nothing once you upgrade. For-11ck harness, component speakers with crossovers for front, coax for rear speakers, forget the center. I haven't kept up on this, maybe someone else has. And would need to find a Ford 8" screen dash, which would also be expensive. But, I think you'd run into the same design issue with that 4" screen. But, I'm not totally familiar with the mid-range stereo you have.Īn option is to upgrade to Sync 3 system out of a later Ford model vehicle. The Maestro also provides some syncing with Sync, I believe. You can make it under $1000 (without install), but it's probably going to be close with all the hookup stuff you need. It will have a link with each product for "installation gear". Go to, car audio section, enter in your vehicle data, and search for Carplay-compatible setups. And I'm not sure anybody makes a single-din version, so you are looking at a double-din setup. So, the most expensive part (other than the radio) will be a new dash surround for whatever kind of radio you get, to fit a normal-shaped radio/display. The 4" screen dash is not really compatible with any aftermarket stereo setups I know of. I would assume that 10" or bigger screen is mounted outside because it doesn't fit in the dash. Here’s a picture to explain what I’m talking about :Īnd again, sorry if this are stupid questions. or is there any other alternative other than the Maestro? Is there any kind of bracket or mounting kit where I can mount the radio outside the dash? My buddy has an 06 Cummins and his Sony radio sits outside the dash and I wouldn’t mind having something like that.

So I’m looking for cheaper alternatives for now until I can talk myself into spending that much. That sounds great but to me it doesn’t make since to spend nearly if not over $1000 on a sound system. I have read some threads in the past that mention the Maestro dash kit. I have a 2014 F150 XLT with the 4.2” screen and I’m looking at getting an apple carplay compatible radio. I have never really cared for it until recently when my friend did his whole sound system and it was done so good it made me want it in my truck lol. So to start things off, I have not a clue on car audio. I see all the info here and finally decided to join.
